Companies with which Betsy does business

These companies have made a commitment to do business in environmentally friendly ways.

Solar Energy: Cooperative Community Energy (CCEnergy) is a buyer's cooperative providing quality solar energy systems at reasonable prices in the San Francisco Bay Area. They provided the solar system that powers Betsy’s home and car.

Office Supplies, Business Products: Give Something Back donate half their after-tax profits to community based organizations, including environmental ones.

Building Supplies: Truitt & White is a local Berkeley business that offers many green building products. Betsy has relied upon them for recycled plastic decking, sustainably-harvested wood trim, recycled denim insulation, and energy-efficient windows in the remodel of her 1906 Colonial Revival home.

Berkeley Farmers’ Markets: Thanks to the Ecology Center, Berkeley is blessed with three wonderful weekly farmers’ markets. You’ll see Betsy out shopping every Tuesday afternoon at the Farmers’ Market on Derby Street between MLK and Milvia.

Groceries: The Natural Grocery Company is a local employee-owned business that carries only organically-grown produce. If you live in the East Bay, be sure to check out their lovely stores in Berkeley on Gilman Street and in El Cerrito on San Pablo.

Printing: Inkworks, a local Berkeley company which specializes in environmental papers and printing, prints Betsy's business cards.

Website hosting: Betsy's website is hosted by SolidLoad who use 100% wind generated electricity. They use electricity for their computers and a/c that has been offset with Mid-Atlantic wind power through the purchase of Green-e certified Renewable Energy Certificates.
